Meet Old Books’s mustier, more sophisticated grandpa. Book Cellar is a little bit earthier, a little less sweet and every bit as charming. Rich and loamy with soft hints of vanilla bean, this candle smells just like the kind of magic found only in an antiquarian’s book collection.
When you read the described scents, you might be hesitant to try it, but I was very pleased with the scent it was. Not what one would expect. Would definitely buy again.
Subtle and Lovely!
This candle is a little on the subtle side, where you only half notice it until you leave the room and come back to realize that everything smells lightly of vanilla and books. It's a great background scent that isn't too overpowering but is still delightful! And definitely evocative of being in a slightly dusty cellar full of old books!
I don’t know how you capture the smell of dirt, but I swear they have! It also has a cool freshness that reminds me a bit of Vick’s underneath. It’s a earthy uniqueness I love, although I do wish the throw could be a bit stronger.
Stronger than expected (in a good way)
This is a delightful scent. I expected it to be mild and hard-to-notice, like the Watson candle, but this was delightfully spicy and had a moderate strength. It’s hard to describe this scent, but it is *very* nice
I'm one of those people who loves that earthy basement smell, so this candle is PERFECT. The vanilla bean gives the scent just a hint of sweetness, which really rounds everything out!
