Earthy and woodsy, this enchanting fragrance transports you to the adventurous Sherwood Forest. The scent is soft and refreshing, with cedar overtones and hints of moss and pine. Wander among the trees, inhale deeply and enjoy the rejuvenating smell of nature - just make sure to avoid that pesky Sheriff.
If you've ever been to the Christmas Tree shops in New England, you have already smelled this scent: very pine forward, a little waxy, with a hint of frankincense. A pleasant scent, but not particularly memorable. Good for the winter holidays.
Welcome to Sherwood Forest
As other reviewers have pointed out, this is a more subtle scent. I had to leave the room and then come back to really notice it after the candle had been burning for a while. That being said, it is a wonderful, cozy scent that reminds me of an old forest--things have been growing here for a while; there's dirt and moss and fallen trees and a deep quiet that no sheriff would infiltrate.
The candle arrived well packaged/protected and in a timely manner. The scent on this one is very mild, and despite the "moss" reference, more crisp-woodsy than earthy-woodsy to me.
No real scent
This is the only candle I've ever been truly disappointed in. First of all, I always burn them for a minimum of 2 hours before I write a review. Though I have not liked some of the scents of other candles this is the first one where I think I've really had trouble even smelling it. I've been burning it and I'm sitting right next to it and I can barely smell it l. That's more than a little disappointing because I especially love the smell of cedar wood. I don't know why there's a seeming discrepancy between customers and scent strength.
If they do bring this candle back I hope that they give it a much stronger scent.
Great scent, some technical issues
I LOVE the scent of this candle. Woodsy, but not your average pine-scented candle you've smelled in every store. I did have a few problems with the way this candle burned - the wick didn't go down as I burned it, so the flame was much too large for an indoor candle and the wick would often flop over into the wax and snuff itself out. I haven't had this problem with other Frostbeard candles so I'm not sure what was up with this one. I bought this in a limited batch, and I hope they bring it back!
