Reading reviews can be confusing. ( Anywhere from resembling a cheap scent to the best thing since sliced bread... too funny.) I have the 4oz tin size and do like this scent blend, but it isn't a medium-strong scent (according to the filter for 'strong' scents listed) so far with three burns. More of a low- medium at best for me. Maybe with the 8 oz size there is a larger wax pool for more throw?
Anyway, this candle really came alive in scent with the second burn for me. Much better, though still with a medium, throw. ( I burn each time at least for an hour or more to get as good an evaluation as I can from each candle and had a ceiling fan on winter setting (drawing up) and on low just to have the scent fill our parlor on the first burn.)
This scent is more lighter and subtle to me, as it doesn't seem to have the deep heavy hitters of leather or other strong base notes to really throw. The lemon is noticeable, but combined with the fireplace and cedarwood it is toned down and not at all overly sweet or candy like. I notice no vanilla scent. I think of the old type of wax furniture polish used back in the day for some reason... the headmaster's orderly (to me) office with cleaned and polished wood ...with a fireplace way off in another area somewhere. Very nice.
The size I have filled a bathroom with scent - on my second burn. To reorder I prefer the heavier hitters with a stronger throw... but this is still a great medium scent blend.
