No matter the time of year, unwinding with the scents of a warm cup o’ joe and sweet confections makes for the perfect ending or beginning of any day. The Reading at the Cafe candle will burn for hours as you flip through the pages of another great read.

This caffeine-inspired candle is made from vegan and eco-friendly materials and is 100% recyclable. In fact, many of our customers enjoy using their leftover glass 8 oz jars and aluminum tins for household DIYs.

Behind The Scents

Reading at the Cafe is one of our most popular all-encompassing literary candles, along with Old Books, Bookstore, Oxford Library, and Rainy Day Reads. And with a sweet and familiar scent of coffee and chocolate, it’s easy to see why. Each coffee scented candle, like all other Frostbeard candles, is hand-poured and prepared in small batches in our Minneapolis studio and retail space. While all of our candles are poured in small batches, our book-loving team takes great pains to make each set look exactly the same, but slight color variation may occur.  

The Reading at the Cafe candle is available in three unique sizes; 2 oz tins, 4 oz tins, and our original 8 oz candle, as well as in tart form. We recommend the 2 oz sizes for those who want to try the scent before committing to a larger size. The 4 oz tins are the perfect gift size; they’ll make great presents for any book lover in your life. And our 8 oz jars, being our most popular size, burn the longest in eye-catching glass jars. Lastly, the tarts are perfect for those who want to enjoy the Reading at the Cafe candle in office settings or in spaces where open flames are not allowed. Hello, dorm rooms!

Helpful Tips

To better enjoy your Frostbeard Reading at the Cafe candle we recommend using the tips outlined below.

• Trim wick to 1/4" before each use.
• Burn no longer than 2-3 hours at a time.
• After use, cover with lid to reduce soot.

Candle Safety

Each of our candles can burn brightly for hours. And while we know that they look great on your shelf, they’re really meant to be used. The larger the candle, the longer it can burn. For each candle, we recommend that you don't burn it all the way down - discontinue use when 1/2" wax remains. See our full list of safety tips here.

Quality Materials, Responsibly Made

The Reading at the Cafe candle may smell nectarous, but what’s really sweet about this scent is its eco-friendly properties. At Frostbeard, we’re dedicated to creating awesome things that need to exist in an environmentally-friendly way. All of our candles are made using renewable resources and ingredients. We don’t use any animal byproducts while crafting our candles, making them both biodegradable and vegan. Plus, we use lead-free cotton wicks and hand-selected dye chips and fragrance oils to round out our candle making process.

Sizing

Specifications

Currently, our standard processing and shipping rate is 2-3 business days per order. After you have placed your order, you will be sent a tracking number to be used once your order has shipped. Domestic orders over 13 oz ship USPS Priority Mail (2-3 days) while orders under 13 oz ship USPS First Class Mail, which may take a little longer.

We know that no one likes shipping fees, that’s why we’ve done everything we can to eliminate costs when possible. Shipping rates are calculated based off your location and the total weight of your order. You can view an estimate for the cost of shipping for your order by adding items to your cart and then proceeding to checkout. You will be able to review this estimate prior to checkout. We currently offer free shipping on all orders over $50 within the U.S. which will be automatically deducted at checkout.

We ship internationally! International orders tend to take between 2-3 weeks (or sometimes longer) to arrive once shipped. Upon arrival, your package may be subjected to additional customs fees and/or tariffs depending on your country’s regulations. You, the buyer, are responsible for paying these costs. We have discounted the rate of international shipping compared to the actual cost. This includes a tiered discount of $5 off orders over $50 and $10 off orders over $100. These rates will be automatically included at checkout.
