2024 Updates: New Scents and Returning Favorites
Late winter and early spring is always a time of reflection and planning for us at Frostbeard Studio. We look at what was successful for us last year, such as projects like our Booksmas Box, and start thinking about how we can do it again. We'd been wanting to make an advent calendar-style candle box forever, and were happy it was received so well. And yes! We're planning to make more this year and already choosing which holiday and Christmas candles to include.
Also more candle making production updates, we've been working on our Candle of the Month calendar. Every month we create a completely new Book Lover's scent as part of our Candle of the Month collection. It's available for a limited run in both soy candles or wax melts, and we also have a candle subscription box where customers receive a discount and get it shipped to you before it's officially released.
This year we've got a nice variety of candle fragrances lined up – earthy, floral, slightly sweet – so there is something for every candle lover. The scent inspirations vary from specific books and characters to broader bibliophile lifestyles and a big mix of genres too, from fantasy books to literary fiction, and we'll even be doing a throwback to nostalgic children's books later in the year. And of course I try to leave a little wiggle room in case I read a five star new release and inspiration strikes.
Getting organized is always the small business owner's goal, so we're also scheduling out the release of our Bring it Back collection. These are past fragrances from our catalogue (we've made over 100 unique candle fragrances at this point!) so make sure to vote for your favorites. We continually hand-pour small batches of these scents throughout the year. Our goal is to release three previous scents every month, one on the first and two on the 15th, so make sure to check back regularly for limited releases.
Our Spring Collection of scented candles are available from March 15 - June 1st so we've been busy stocking the shelves with those. Pemberley Garden, Gatsby's Mansion, Halfling Hills, and Monster Hunter make up the spring scented candle line-up and are always a great way to welcome in the changing of the season with these bright earthy and refreshing scents.
Our studio retail shop in Minneapolis Minnesota continues to be open once a week on Wednesdays and we have our candles available at other bookstores around the city (and country) so make sure to let your local indie bookstore know if you'd like them to carry our candles.
Otherwise, things continue as normal in our little candle studio: making candles, labeling jars and tins, packing and shipping. Listening to podcasts and 90s music, gossiping about TV shows and books.
