Gift for a friend

I really dislike this scent personally, but it was a gift for a friend and they adore it. They said its not too strong and its perfect for winding down for the evening. Thank you from my friend!

If "Library" was a perfume scent, this would be it?

The best way to explain this scent, to me, is a perfumy version of what a library smells like, in a good way. Like the library in black tie attire. I'm an English professor, and I got the wax melts in this scent and Old Books to combine in my office (per another reviewer's suggestion--a GREAT suggestion), and it's a great bookish scent to have in an office space that also isn't so overpowering that I worry about bothering those with sensitivities to certain fragrances. I was actually a tad worried it would bother my own sensitivity because the some are describing an incense fragrance as part of this mix, but it wasn't strong enough to cause me any problems. If the smell of libraries makes you happy, as it does me, this one and Bookstore are fabulous choices, and Old Books is a wonderful, subtler scent to mix in either as an additional candle or as a wax melt.

Strong and Pleasant

Some candles can be so strong smelling that they become almost overpowering in the room that they're in; Oxford Library however is one that fills the room with such a pleasant scent but it never is overpowering. The top note is definitely the leather, but the longer it burns the more that the sandalwood and oak come through. The scent also has a staying power so once you burn the candle out, the scent will stay at least for the rest of the day, if not into the next.

A great candle, but definitely for specific tastes. My sister despises it and complains every time she comes over and I've had it burning!

A Different Scent Every Time I Smell It!

I discovered a semi-local bookstore sold Frostbeard Candles, so I decided to make a trek to sniff them out. This was another I've had my eye on, seeing that it was so popular, and I'm a sucker for a man's cologne. At first sniff all I could smell was leather, with almost a leather polish fragrance running close behind it. I wasn't entirely overwhelmed with it at first, but I kept coming back for more and every time I would smell something different. The leather backed off and the cologne took over first place with the sandalwood following close behind. You may have sniffed it once and felt it wasn't your cup of tea, but I suggest rubbing the top of the candle with your finger and letting lose the fragrances trapped in the wax. You definitely get a more pleasing whiff the second time, or even third time, around, if you're not immediately drawn in on the first :)

Strong and prestigious

The name for this scent is appropriate. I feel like I'm being transported to a prestigious library. I love the sandalwood and oak notes to this wax melt, but the leather comes through a little too powerfully for my taste.
